“Der Weltmeister” (The World Champion)
The Weltmeister celebrated the “Beetle” overtaking the ford model T when number 15,007,034 rolled off the production line. 6,000 Weltmeisters were produced at VW’s Wolfsburg plant in West Germany. 1,500 of these were sent to the UK, where they were branded as World Champion Beetles. They were priced at £949.52 OTR.
Each one was finished in marathon blue. Which is where they get their “Marathon” nickname from. Owners received a commemorative folder with a VW Weltmeister medallion, a keyring and certificate.
Around 40 “Marathons” are still on the road in the UK. “Vera”, as she is known, is one of them. Vera benefits from electronic ignition but has been kept otherwise completely standard

Full payment required at time of booking.
Bookings of more than 1 full day:
50% deposit required at time of booking.
Balance payable 14 days prior to event.
Client/Customer Booking Fees
When booking a vehicle through TV and Movie Action Vehicles a ‘booking fee’ of 10% of the total booking value charged to hirer. This fee may be reduced or waived for extended or multiple bookings. This fee is subject to VAT.
